Rockets jump out to early lead, rout Genoa

OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor made easy work of Genoa, defeating their Ottawa County rivals, 59-36. Jac Alexander had 18 points to lead all scorers, and Gabe Dowling contributed with 10 points.

The Rockets (4-1) led 18-2 after the first quarter and never looked back as they steadily built the lead. The Comets (2-6) got nine points from Trevor Wasserman and Allen Laytart chipped in with eight points.

Oak Harbor 79, Margaretta 40

Oak Harbor dominated from the outset and defeated Margaretta, 79-40. The Rockets had five players score in double figures while the Polar Bears (5-5, 2-2 SBC Bay) didn’t have any scorers finish in double figures.

Jac Alexander led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Clay Schulte (13), Gabe Dowling (12), Blake Booker (11) and Will Dowling (10). Brycetyn Hedden and Jake Leibacher had nine points apiece to lead Margaretta.
