OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor scored 14 runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 15-2 victory over Woodmore in the championship game of the Croll Family Invitational.
It is the ninth straight win for the Rockets.
Reagan Schultz got the win, allowing just two runs on three hits, and hit a triple while driving in three runs. Reese Adkins finished with three hits, including a double.
Woodmore defeated Perkins, 10-0, to advance to the championship game of the four-team tournament.
Oak Harbor 22, Bowsher 0
OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor scored 22 runs and Ashley Schiller pitched a great game as the Rockets defeated Bowsher, 22-0, in the semifinals of the Croll Family Invitational.
Schiller allowed no runs on just one hit.
Hannah Schimmoeller went 3-for-4, hit a home run and drove in four runs. Remi Gregory finished with four hits.
Oak Harbor 8, Northwood 0
NORTHWOOD — Porter Gregory hit two home runs and drove in five as Oak Harbor defeated Northwood, 8-0, in non-conference action.
Reagan Schultz allowed just three hits and struck out 11 batters.
Schultz, Emily Sommers and Ashley Schiller had two hits apiece.
Oak Harbor 13, Willard 3 (5 innings)
OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor took control from the outset, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first inning in its 13-3 win over Willard in five innings.
In the third inning, holding a 5-1 lead, the Rockets scored seven runs to put the game away.
Reagan Schultz got the win.
Ashley Schiller had two hits and drove in two runs, Allie Giezie and Sydney Overmyer drove in two runs apiece and Porter Gregory and Emily Sommers all had two hits.
Oak Harbor 5, Edison 3
OAK HARBOR — With the score tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, Reagan Schultz led off with a single and Reese Adkins reached on an error, which scored Schultz, and Oak Harbor edged Edison, 5-3, to stay unbeaten in the Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division.
Following the first run of the fifth, Remi Gregory doubled to drive in Adkins for the final run.
The Chargers scored in the top of the first when Reagan King hit a three-run homer, but the Rockets responded with three runs of their own when Emily Sommers hit a double with the bases loaded to score three runs.
Schultz allowed three runs on six hits, including no runs in the final six innings.
Rocket boys fall to Huron, 8-7
OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor made a valiant effort in its game against Huron, scoring six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but ultimately lost 8-7 to the Tigers.
The Rockets (3-9, 0-4 Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division) had a runner on second with one out in the seventh, but the next two batters struck out to end the game.
Mason Wagner had three hits and Hayden Craig finished with two hits.
Huron pitcher Cody Mamere got the win, allowing just one run in five innings of work. Matthew Witherow got the save.
Trailing 1-0, the Tigers scored six runs in the fifth and added two more in the sixth to take an 8-1 lead.
Huron’s Adam Murray had two hits and drove in three runs.
Edison 1, Oak Harbor 0
MILAN TWP. — Blake Simon singled to score Hayden Fry in the bottom of the seventh inning and Edison defeated Oak Harbor, 1-0.
It was a pitchers’ duel with Thomas Simon allowing just two hits while striking out 11. Michael LaLonde led the Rockets, allowing one run on three hits and striking out six.
