The Incredible Rubber Duck Race to benefit United Way of Ottawa County will take over Derby Pond in Waterworks Park in Port Clinton on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 8 p.m. There’s plenty of time to get ready for the extravaganza and root for one of the 1,000 yellow ducks racing around the small waters.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun, and will help United Way of Ottawa County to support a lot of great causes around Ottawa County,” said Director Alison Falls. “The Incredible Rubber Duck Race event is in collaboration with the Port Clinton Area 4th of July Celebration, with lots of help from city officials and the Port Clinton Fire Department.”
Chief Kent Johnson’s fire crews will help to crowd Derby Pond with 1,000 rubber ducks, and keep them moving with fire hoses, wind fans and waves. The duck crossing the finish line first is the winner for its sponsor.
