The Island Safe Harbor Animal Shelter has had a great deal of success finding forever homes for rescue dogs. Oscar was rescued by local fundraiser Dee Dee Kramer and eventually became a regular visitor of area hospitals to buoy the spirits of patients.

The Island Safe Harbor Animal Shelter (ISHAS) Fundraising Committee is hosting a Gift Card Raffle in lieu of its annual fundraiser that directly supports the ongoing efforts of the donation funded, no-kill animal shelter in Port Clinton.

“We have all felt the recent pandemic effects on our lives, our economy and beyond, however the need still prevails especially for our feline and canine companions,” said shelter fundraiser Frank Kozuch. “We have rescued over 3,000 animals from abandoned or neglected situations, and have given these animals proper care and placed for adoption, when possible.

“The shelter gave those special animals a ‘New Leash on Life.’ Support from the community will help us to continue our efforts to rescue abused or abandoned animals.”

The Summer 2020 Gift Card Raffle features a $300 Meijer Gift card as grand prize, as well as 12 additional prizes of a $50 Visa Gift Card. Every $25 donation will be an entry in the drawing to be held on Sept. 5.

To make a donation and enter the drawing visit Newport Dry Goods in the Knoll Crest Plaza in Port Clinton, or contact fundraising officials Dee Dee Kramer at 440-724-8371 or Frank Kozuch at 440-503-8552 for more information on other area locations.

Please note that Gift Card Raffle Tickets are not available at the Safe Harbor Animal Shelter.
