Port Clinton Mayor Mike Snider and Councilwoman Beth Gillman have a tradition of ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign each Christmas season.

The Salvation Army-Port Clinton Service Center and its Advisory Committee members are inviting everyone to attend the 26th Annual Red Kettle Campaign Breakfast Kickoff Celebration.

Join the crowd of bell ringers at The Catawba Island Club, 4235 E. Beach Club Rd., Port Clinton, on Nov. 6 at 7:30 a.m. for a great breakfast, and the chance to ring the bell Red Kettle Bell this Christmas season.

Reservations are needed. Call the Salvation Army at 419-732-2769 or email: maureen.saponari@use.salvationarmy.org

This year’s Red Kettle Campaign will begin on Nov. 11 and run through Dec. 24. Help Salvation Army to meet its goal by ringing the bell at Kroger’s, Twin Oast, Walmart, Friendship Food Stores, Community Market – Oak Harbor and Miller Market – Genoa.

The Salvation Army depends on local residents, organizations and businesses to “Adopt-a-Kettle” at one of their various locations during the holiday season. Gather your friends and co-workers and catch the holiday spirit as you ring the bell for the day and support those in need in our community.

All proceeds from the Red Kettle campaign are used to directly serve the needs of Ottawa County with rent or mortgage assistance and utility payments, as well as food, prescription medicine and clothing.

The Salvation Army also provides 70 local children the opportunity to attend a cost free, week long summer camp at Camp NEOSA, school supplies through our Tools for School program, Winter Coats for Families and Christmas gifts through the Toy program, which is partnered with Toys for Tots and The Ottawa County Holiday Bureau.

By ringing the bell and making a commitment to ring the bell for a day or even just a few hours, you make it possible for The Salvation Army to continue serving our local residents in need throughout the year. It is also a great marketing tool for your organization or company.

If you are interested in participating in this years campaign and you, or your group, can’t attend the Red Kettle Breakfast, contact Maureen Saponari at (419) 732-ARMY (2769). Donations can also be made in person or by mail at: Salvation Army, Port Clinton Service Center, 1834 E. Perry St., Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.
