
Stuff the Bus with school supplies this weekend at Port Clinton ’s Walmart, 2826 E. Harbor Rd.
The Salvation Army is accepting donations for Tools for School, a locally-funded program in Port Clinton designed to assist families in need to obtain school supplies. Donations of funds and school supplies will be accepted through Sunday, Aug. 13 in Port Clinton at: Walmart, 2826 E. Harbor Rd.; Dollar General, 2824 E. Harbor Rd.; Fireland Presbyterian Church, 2626 E. Harbor Rd.; Immaculate Conception Church, 414 Madison St.; and The Salvation Army, 1854 E. Perry St.
There will be a Stuff the Bus event at the Port Clinton’s Walmart from Friday through Sunday. Aug. 4-6, which coincides with Ohio’s tax-free school supplies weekend.
Supplies needed are: backpacks, 1” and 2” binders, colored pencils, 24 count Crayola crayons, 8 count Crayola crayons, large pink erasers, EXPO dry erase markers (low odor, fine and chisel points), two pocket folders, three prong folders (red, blue, yellow, green, orange), Elmer’s 4 oz. glue, Elmer’s glue sticks, Jumbo Elmer’s glue sticks, yellow highlighters, Sharpie Markers, 8 count markers, 8 count washable thin markers, 100-count packs of index cards, composition notebooks, looseleaf notebook paper, post it notes, personal pencil sharpeners, 12 packs of #2 pencils, pens – black, blue, red, Fiskars scissors, single subject notebooks, mesh 3-ring pouch, pencil pouch, school supply box, Scotch tape.
Applications can be found on the Salvation Army Facebook Page, at The Salvation Army Port Clinton Service Center, at the Ottawa County Department of Job and Family Services, and at local libraries: Elmore Harris (both Elmore and Genoa branches), Oak Harbor, and Ida Rupp (Port Clinton and Marblehead branches).
