Sandusky Bay Conference games continue

In the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division matchup between the Perkins Pirates and the Clyde Fliers on Friday, April 19, it was Perkins coming away with the win 8-6 after eight innings. With this win, Perkins’ record is now 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division. Perkins is on a three-game winning streak with a combined 28 runs. The top four hitters for Perkins had 10 hits combined as Dylan Crabtree and John Zwiwsler hit three each. Braylon Collier (double and a triple), and Logan Lesch each had two. Andrew Halbisen had two doubles.

The Clyde Fliers record is 6-5, 2-2. Clyde was on the scoreboard first when Calden Bumb singled, and Dawson Jeffrey reached on an error. Evan Criswell set up a three-run home run. Perkins came right back with three runs in the second inning. Clyde would retake the lead 4-3 when Gavyn Boggs scored on a single. Perkins would again return to take the lead with three runs in the fourth inning. The Fliers had one run in the fifth inning when Blake Hershey singled. In the seventh inning for Clyde, Criswell doubled with one out, and Drake Guhn singled him home.

In a Sandusky Bay Conference game on Friday, April 19, the Huron Tigers were on the road and defeated the Margaretta Polar Bears 8-2. Huron would score five unearned runs. Huron pitcher Paul Maloney has faced 18 batters in the last five innings. Huron opened up with an early 3-0 lead, and Margaretta never caught up.

The Bellevue Redmen defeated the Norwalk Truckers 2-1 in Sandusky Bay Lake Division action on Friday, April 19. Cody Lindsey threw a no-hitter for Bellevue, striking out eight and giving up one run. Norwalk’s lone score came in the top of the first inning. Bellevue tied the game in the fourth inning when Daniel Ochenduski’s single scored Dylan Barger. Bellevue went ahead in the sixth inning to win the game.

The Columbian Tornadoes blanked the Sandusky Blue Streaks 19-0. Ten different Columbian players would score runs. Columbian’s record is 8-5 and 5-0 in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division. Sandusky is 6-5 overall and 0-4 in conference games.

The Calvert Senecas won over the Danbury Lakers 9-1. For Calvert, Caden Otterbacher had three hits, and Cameron Moyer had three runs. Danbury had three hits. The Calvert Senecas record is 9-1 overall and 6-0 conference. The Danbury Lakers have a record of 4-7 overall and 1-7 in the Sandusky Bay Conference River division.
