Sandusky High School 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees announced

Sandusky High School will induct its 2024 Athletic Hall of Fame class on Saturday, May 4, at 5 p.m. Ticket information will be released at a later date. The two teams that will be honored are the 1990 football team and the 1959 and 1960 swimming freestyle relay teams. Inductees include Jim Fantozz (class of 1973), a four-year letterman in track & field and one year in football. Kenya Graves Wagner (class of 2000) won 10 varsity letters and was a standout in the sports of basketball, volleyball, and track & field. Doresha Green (class of 2014) excelled in basketball, soccer and track. Bruce Parker (class of 2008) was one of three Sandusky Blue Streaks to be named All-Ohio twice in football, and he holds the Sandusky Blue Streaks record for single-season and career quarterback sacks. Dennis Mateyka will be inducted as a Mylander-Hartung Coach and Community Member.

The 1990 Sandusky Blue Streaks football team was led by coach Larry Cook, and they set a school record of 12 wins and advanced to the Division I state semifinals. The 1959 and the 1960 swimming freestyle relay teams both made the state finals and stood on top of the podium one time. The Sandusky Hall of Fame will now have 187 athletes, 21 teams, 31 community members and 15 school officials.
