Santa’s friends from the Portage District Fire Department will be guiding him through the streets of the Village of Oak Harbor on Friday, Dec. 1, at 5:15 p.m. as the jolly old fellow announces his arrival and opens the 2023 Holiday Season.

At 6 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at the Log Cabin to light the Village Christmas Tree and to visit with the children.

New this year will be an extended stay by St. Nicholas! For the first three Fridays in December, children will have the opportunity to share their Christmas wish list with Santa at the Log Cabin. After their visit with Santa, the children will then receive a punch card good for cookies, cocoa and crafts at downtown businesses.

Those children who participate in all activities will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Chamber Gift Certificate. The drawing will be held on Monday, Dec. 18.

Santa’s activities will be available from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Dec. 1, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15. The Portage District Fire Department’s firetruck parade and tree lighting will only be on Friday, Dec. 1.
