OHIO – There is still time to save money during Ohio’s back-to-school sales tax holiday, which runs through Aug. 14. The sales tax holiday creates a great opportunity to support Ottawa County’s small businesses like The Nautical Trading Co. and Bay’s Edge Bait & Tackle.

According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, nearly all tangible personal property priced at $500 or less is tax-free. Exclusions include watercraft or outboard motors, motor vehicles, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, vapor products and items containing marijuana.

The list of items that are included in the tax-exempt holiday include electronics, clothing, books, home goods, plants, sporting goods, food and beverages.
