Many of the veterans at the Port Clinton Senior Center’s Big Band Dance wear their military outfits from past wars.
Port Clinton seniors and the Port Clinton Senior Center will again be hosting a Big Band Dance Tribute that will honor veterans and active service personnel. The gala dance will include the Parade of Colors under the direction of John Culp, ICC (SS) USN Ret. Also featured will be the Missing Man Table to honor those who have died.
The Big Band Dance will take place on Sunday, Nov. 3 from 2-5 p.m., at the Port Clinton High School Cafeteria, 821 S. Jefferson St., Port Clinton, and is open to the public. Music is by the “Night Session” big band.
Advance sale tickets are $10, with tickets $12 at the door, and include an hors d’ouevres buffet, door prizes and 50/50 raffles. Tickets are available at Mary’s Blossom Shoppe, 125 Madison St., Port Clinton or by calling Juanita Mills-Persely at 419-341-1080. Dress is casual, with veterans asked to wear an outfit of their era.
The dance is made possible through the support of VFW Post 2480, American Legion Post 113, Ottawa County Veterans’ Services, Port Clinton High School Leadership Council, Chefsbest Catering, and Beer Thirty’s Tavern and Eatery.
