
Blaesing
Port Clinton High School announced the Senior Spotlights for March are Carlie Blaesing and Cameron Gillum. Both have excelled in sports and academics during their four years at the high school. Blaesing is a Summa Cum Laude grad, while Gillum is a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete.
Blaesing has been a four-year member of the Port Clinton High School swimming and diving teams and was selected as captain both her junior and senior years. She was part of helping the team capture four SBC Championships during her career.
She has been a state qualifier all four years of her high school career, named All-Ohio for three years and was a part of the State third place 200 free relay team. She was also a member of the cross country team serving as captain her junior year and track for two years.
She has been involved in National Honor Society, Key Club and International Club. She will graduate Summa Cum Laude and will be honored at the Ottawa County Top Ten Banquet in May. Carlie will further her education and swim career next year at Bowling Green State University majoring in Computer Science. She is the daughter of Melanie Watling and Carl Blaesing.

Gillum
Cameron Gillum has been involved in athletics and numerous clubs and organizations at Port Clinton High School. He is a three-year captain of the Port Clinton football team and part of the State Final Four team. He has earned first team all SBC, All District and second team All-State honors.
He also played basketball and helped earn the 2023 Sectional Championship basketball title. He has been named a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete and is a member of Leadership Council, National Honor Society and is a Freshmen Mentor.
In addition to athletic and extracurricular activities, Gillum has been involved in the Port Clinton Orchestra for four years, playing the viola. Next year he plans to further his education with the goal of becoming a pilot. He is the son of Rich and Stacie Gillum.
