Pistol, small bore rifle and highpower rifle shooting clinics are held throughout the National Matches at Camp Perry. Check this list to find training events or other activities that will be of interest to you during your trip to the National Matches.
The current clinic schedule includes these training opportunities:
NATIONAL MATCH JUNIOR
SMALLBORE & AIR RIFLE CAMP
The camp has evolved over the past years and now specializes in training intermediate and advanced athletes who are striving to shoot in colligate programs. Camp is open to junior shooters who shoot both 3 position smallbore and standing or international precision air rifle. Requirements are ages 12 to 20 and must currently be shooting in 3 position smallbore competition matches and international air rifle.
Clinic instruction covers Rimfire Sporter rules, safety instructions and competition procedures. The clinic also offers instruction and demonstrations on how to shoot the Rimfire Sporter course of fire. Clinic instruction will cover the firing positions, use of the sling as well as slow and rapid-fire techniques. Shooters who have not previously attended a CMP Rimfire Sporter Match are strongly encouraged to attend the clinic. Held at the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center.
SMALL ARMS FIRING SCHOOLS
SMALLBORE RIFLE SCHOOL
HIGHPOWER RIFLE SCHOOL
These schools offer beginning shooters special hands-on instruction that starts from the beginning with safety, nomenclature, clearing, loading and unloading, shot technique and basic firing positions. Intermediate SAFS instruction focuses on teaching and practicing competition techniques. The Advanced Pistol and Rifle Courses focus on the fundamentals, understanding training methods, and building a mental approach to competitive shooting.
CMP ADVANCED HIGHPOWER CLINIC
The CMP Advanced Highpower Clinic offers advanced instruction in service rifle competition techniques. Members of Team CMP will teach the clinic. The clinic includes classroom instruction and coached dry-firing practice. Participants in the clinic must bring their own service rifles and shooting equipment. They will receive Clinic T-shirt and certificate.
USMC JUNIOR HIGHPOWER CLINIC
The CMP-USMC Junior Highpower Rifle Clinic offers advanced instruction in service rifle competition techniques. Members of the U. S. Marine Corps Rifle Team teach the clinic. The CMP provides administrative support for the clinic. The clinic includes classroom instruction and range firing at 200, 300 and 600 yards. It is open to junior highpower rifle shooters who have previous service rifle competition experience. Juniors who are new to highpower rifle shooting are required to attend a Rifle SAFS first before registering for the USMC Clinic. Participants in the clinic must bring their own rifles and shooting equipment. They will receive ammunition for clinic firing activities, a USMC Clinic T-shirt and certificate presentation at the end of the clinic.
INFANTRY TROPHY CLINIC
