Accepting three oversized Wildlife Explorer binders from SIMPLE GESTURES organizer Kathy Jo Schweitzer, right, are Marblehead Lighthouse State Park Manager Mike Monette, Park Guide Elizabeth Satterfield and Naturalist Aide Megan Veeley.
When Kathy Jo Schweitzer, SIMPLE GESTURES organizer, emailed a need request, this time it was different. Contributors were asked to spring clean in May by sharing with others those nice household items that have accumulated, hiding all around your house, but will never be used.”
From that request, more than 200 items were received, and would be distributed to individuals and organizations in Ottawa County.
Schweitzer decided to contact the Ohio Division of National Resources, concerning a donation of three unique items. They were gorgeous plastic-coated Wildlife Explorer notebooks delivered to her by their two owners, who wanted to make sure the three items would be used.
“It was great meeting and talking with the three ODNR representatives on the grounds of the Marblehead Lighthouse. They were thrilled to receive the notebooks, and would be useful for wildlife and nature classes in the area,” said Schweitzer. “I was so pleased to find a good home for them!” This was the 134th distribution from SIMPLE GESTURES.
