After learning more about the Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center, Kathy Jo Schweitzer, organizer of SIMPLE GESTURES, told CASA volunteer Rosalynn Barnhill (left), she thought SIMPLE GESTURES might be able to help. After a 9-day collection period, the SG contributors brought in over 1,100 items of personal, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room and other useful household items that were necessary to set up a young man in his first apartment.
“It was a pleasure working with Rosalynn to understand more about the process of assisting young adults in our community. The SG contributors are a great group of people from our area, who have always been very generous. This was our 30th distribution and I am always amazed to see the item choices they make. It is just a lot of fun!” said Schweitzer.
