PORT CLINTON — Port Clinton won the Rod Gale Doubles Invitational in convincing fashion, finishing with 88 points to claim victory in the 8-team field.
Clyde was second with 69 points, followed by Perkins (55), Edison (50), Bellevue (30), Toledo St. John’s Jesuit (28), St. Mary Central Catholic (24) and St. Joseph CC (2).
Of the four doubles tournaments, the Redskins won two and finished second in another.
Owen Auxter and Colin Denno won the No. 1 doubles bracket, defeating Perkins’ T.J. Blue and Chase Young in the finals. Clyde’s Grant McMaster and Mat Jackson finished third.
Grant Arnold and Blake Denno won the No. 3 doubles bracket, beating Clyde’s Aiden Krintzline and Alex Krintzline in the finals. Perkins’ Wyatt Delaney and Connor Beverick finished third.
Diego Buhay and Sam Roberts finished second at No. 4 doubles, losing to Edison’s Kris Maschari and Jonah Main in the finals. Perkins’ Will Werling and Matt Chandran took third.
The Clyde duo of Kyle Flewelling and Gavin Gill finished first at No. 2 doubles, beating St. John’s duo of Garrett Ody and Drew Eckel. Perkins’ Lucas Gray and Tim Wensink finished third.
