Slow Burn will bring a little pop, a little rock, and a whole lot of alternative to The District on July 26.

PORT CLINTON – Fans of 90s alternative rock won’t want to miss the Saturday, July 26, 8 p.m. performance of Slow Burn in The District in downtown Port Clinton. The band plays music from the 90s and beyond, including pop and rock.

“But we do 90s alternative mostly,” said Slow Burn guitarist, Jason Massie.

Massie started on piano when he was a kid before discovering guitar. He’s been playing guitar for 35 years.

“I just loved guitar. That’s it,” he said.

Slow Burn vocalist Kristin Kukic has been performing with bands her entire adult life.

“She studied music at Siena Heights University,” Massie said. “She’s been in lots of musicals around Toledo.”

Slow Burn also includes Neal Anderson on drums and Pete Heydinger on bass. The four members played together in different bands before founding Slow Burn two years ago.

“We’ve been around each other for years,” Massie said.

Massie said the band’s high energy is one reason they are so popular.

“And we’re authentic. We don’t use backtracks or click tracks,” he said. “We have a strong girl singer, and we’re just a lot of fun.”

Massie is looking forward to returning to downtown Port Clinton.

“I love the feel. It’s really comfortable, and the stage is very nice,” he said. “The city’s been really nice. We have a good time there, and the bars and restaurants are great.”

What can the crowd expect during the July 26 concert?

“A quality performance with high quality sound,” Massie said. “You’ll hear 90s hits and great musicianship.”
