Soul Pilot is a 5-piece band touring Northwest Ohio, but especially the Port Clinton area over the past year and a half, bringing their types of rock and roll on Saturday, Aug. 19 and 7 p.m. to The District Stage in Port Clinton.
“We play a lot of pop rock, and some southern rock, as well” said drummer Neal Anderson. “Harmony is our strong suit, and with familiar rock that so many people in this area really enjoy. And we even cover some much more modern bands, like Maroon 5.”
Ready to rock with Anderson will be Drew Hoerig, rhythm guitar and lead singer with Scott Brown, who is lead guitar; Mike Stiff, bass guitar and background vocals; and Dylan Kramer on keyboard.
“We like to have fun, and playing on The District Stage is a joy for all of us,” said Anderson. “It’s the best platform around, and the crowds have been outstanding. The atmosphere here is amazing, being in a spacious downtown setting and surrounded by great places to dine and have a drink.”
Anderson said being a cover band for so many greats has opened the door to a wide range of venues, including the plentiful summer fairs and festivals around the region.
“We’ve been together for over a year, and I still join other local bands for many of my gigs, including performing with Eric Sowers on The District Stage a few times, and with Dad Bodz, a bunch of fathers like me,” said Anderson. “Music is my full time job, and I love that.”
If music from Shania Twain, Sammy Hagar, ZZ Top and some other crusty, but extremely popular groups will have you dancing, see you downtown on Saturday!
