Letter to the Editor,
The final tally is in! During the recent “Ottawa County Bundle Up” clothing drive, the Ottawa County Community Foundation (OCCF) collected approximately 1,500 cold-weather clothing items for local school districts to distribute to students and families. Each school district was also granted a supplemental $500 for additional personal care items.
In total, it is (conservatively) estimated that more than $10,000 worth of Bundle Up clothing and aid was secured to help Ottawa County residents in need.
This would not have been possible without the many businesses, service organizations and individuals that helped to make OCCF’s community project such a success. In particular, we thank Ida Rupp Public Library (OCCF’s Giving Tuesday partner), as well as Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library, Erie Islands Branch Library, Harris-Elmore Public Library, Genoa Branch Library, and Oak Harbor Public Library, each of which served as clothing donation drop-off locations.
Thank you, everyone, for helping Ottawa County students to “bundle up” during the cold, winter months, while joining OCCF in its mission of “Doing Good. Forever.”
Warmly,
OCCF Executive Director Shea McGrew
