PORT CLINTON – Some of the strongest athletes in the world are coming to Ohio this Labor Day weekend as Strongman Champions League USA returns Sept. 5 to 6 for two days of professional strongman competition, family entertainment, and extraordinary feats of strength.

Admission is completely free both days.

The event will feature fourteen professional athletes representing 11 countries, including Czech Republic, Iceland, Holland, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Canada, United Kingdom, Philippines, Sweden, and the U.S.

Saturday, Sept. 5 events begin at Erie-Ottawa International Airport in Port Clinton, where Strongman Champions League headlines the inaugural Rally on the Runway. The festival runs from noon to 5 p.m., with the strongman competition from 1 to 4 p.m. Families can also enjoy food and vendors, entertainment, a Touch-a-Truck experience, scavenger hunt, and other activities.

One of Saturday’s signature events will be a spectacular PBY Catalina Plane Pull, with athletes attempting to move the historic WWII-era PBY-6A Catalina, one of Liberty Aviation Museum’s largest aircraft on display.

On Sunday, September 6, the competition moves to downtown Sandusky near Columbus Ave. and Water St., beginning at 1 p.m. The waterfront setting will host another full program of strongman events, entertainment and opportunities for spectators to experience the action up close. Younger fans can participate in the free Sandusky Library Little Legends Challenge from 1 to 5 p.m., featuring hands-on, strongman-inspired activities.

The weekend follows SCL’s first U.S. event in Ohio in 2025, which attracted thousands of spectators and was filmed for a two-episode production later released on Amazon Prime Video and Roku. The 2026 event will again showcase Ohio and its host communities to audiences beyond the live competition.

Strongman Champions League is the only global professional strongman league, bringing elite international athletes to destinations around the world throughout its annual season.
