PORT CLINTON – Immaculate Conception Church invites the public to celebrate the joy of Easter at a free performance of “The Answer,” a live professional production of the life, death and resurrection of Christ. “The Answer” will be performed at Immaculate Conception on March 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Director and Producer Christina Dupré, who serves as the Worship and Liturgy Coordinator for St. Joseph Parish in Elyria, will bring a cast and crew of nearly 100 people to Immaculate Conception for the performance, which will include music, dance and video.

“The group from Elyria has been putting this on for about 15 years, and they redid the music about five years ago,” said Judy Geiger of Immaculate Conception. “Christina Dupré is very professional, and she surrounds herself with a lot of professional people.”

Geiger said the production team, which are all volunteers, brings its own light and sound equipment for a truly unique performance.

“They customize the set to fit each church,” she said.

This is the first time “The Answer” will be performed at Immaculate Conception. This year, Dupré is bringing the production to two churches in Elyria, one in Westlake, and Immaculate Conception.

“Christina gets a lot of requests to do this, and they pray about it and decide which churches to choose,” Geiger said. “We felt very privileged she chose us.”

Immaculate Conception is grateful to have the opportunity to share “The Answer” with the public.

“Christina and her team have been delightful to work with,” Geiger said. “They just want to get the word out. I hope the church is filled.”

There is no charge and no tickets are necessary, but attendees are welcome to make a freewill offering to help offset the $5,000 cost of the production. Immaculate Conception is located at 414 Madison St. in Port Clinton.
