Sweet scent of popcorn signals summer

May 27, 2020 | Business | 1 comment

Bright, sunny skies, balmy temperatures and the sweet scent of popcorn on North Madison Street in Port Clinton are a sure sign the summer season has begun. Lots of people strolling the streets of downtown Port Clinton are stopping for a snack at the Great Lakes Popcorn Company, where McKenna Boling has the corn popping under the watchful eye of Manager Loria Hofer. You can walk into Great Lakes Popcorn on any given day and you will usually see McKenna, my granddaughter. She is in her third season with the company and does her job well, always with a smile. Stop on in and she or any of the other employees will help you choose one of the many flavors of popcorn offered. Not easy because they have so many to choose from.Stop in and you will love what you see and what you smell!
