A large community group came together recently at the Catawba Island Club (CIC) to play golf in support of Terra State Community College student scholarships at the Terra College Foundation 2019 Annual Golf Scramble FORE Students. Volunteers and over 31 golf teams took over the noteworthy course and by the conclusion of the scramble, more than $20,000 were raised for students and programs at Terra State.

Terra State President Dr. Ronald Schumacher was thankful for the turnout. “I want to give a big kudos to the CIC staff, who did a great job running us around the course,” he said. “I also want to give a big thank you to my executive team members, deans and volunteers who helped at the scramble.”

“I want to thank our President of the College, our Foundation board members and all who sponsored this event to make it happen. The Terra College Foundation, through donations, is able to give away more than $100,000 each year of student scholarships. That’s not possible without events like this and without the support of all of you,” said

Executive Director Cory Stine of the Terra College Foundation, who extended his gratitude to all who had part in the planning and executing the event.

Mayor Danny Sanchez of Fremont enjoyed his time playing on a team for the outing.
“It’s always great to come out and support Terra State Community College, to get together with all of the community partners and to come together for a good cause to support the students at Terra,” he said. “Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this.”
