Join us down at The District stage for a musical performance from Beverly the Music Lady! Beverly the Music Lady has been performing with her guitar since 1996, and captivates young audiences with her singing voice and silly jokes. She invites audiences to move to her grooves! No regis-tration is required.
  • Stuffed Animal Sleepover, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 6 – 7 p.m.; Children. All Together Now at the Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library for the 2023 Summer Reading Program! Visit Mar-blehead Peninsula Branch Library for a quick craft activity plus a special story time with one of their favorite stuffed animal friends! Join us with Dave Cornell from Wet Pets-N-Pals as he discusses appropriate aquatic pet care. Dave is the owner and operator from the aquatic pet shop here in Port Clinton. He has years of experience and is extremely passionate about all things fish and reptile. Which means that some of his “pets” may make an appearance as well! All ages wel-come – children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.
  • Comics and Culture: A History of Superhero and Its Futures, Ida Rupp Public Library; 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.; Adults. All Together Now at Ida Rupp Public Library for the 2023 Summer Reading Program! Superhero comics have long been thought of as representing a very particular human body. In the last few decades, we have seen a greater diversifying of the image of these heroes. Valentino Zullo will discuss the history that led to this moment, including characters who would break the mold years ago, redefining the superhero leading to our contemporary moment. From Black Panther and Black Lightning to Ms. Marvel and Wonder Woman as well as Ice-man and Jon Kent, we will look at the diverse landscape of history of the superhero and the genre’s future.   • Stuffed Animal Sleepover Pick-Up, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 10:30 – 11 a.m.; Children. All Together Now at the Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library for the 2023 Summer Read-ing Program! This is the second half of the Stuffed Animal Sleepo-ver. Kids and their beloved stuffed animals are reunited at 10:30 a.m. for a yummy breakfast & slideshow of the animal adventures from the night before.

Saturday July 8

  • Family Movie!, Ida Rupp Public Library; 2:30 – 4 p.m.; Family. Come to the library to watch A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019; rated PG). Bring a blanket to sit on, if you’d like! Monday July 10

  • Kindness Cards, Ida Rupp Public Library; 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.; Chil-dren. All Together Now at the Ida Rupp Public Library for the 2023 Summer Reading Program! Join us to design some beautiful cards to donate to the folks at Port Clinton Senior Center. Cards are a wonderful way to spread kindness and brighten someone’s day. Markers, colored pencils, and crayons will be provided to create lovely art to share with others. Corvid will take the cards over to the Port Clinton Senior Center after the program. No registration re-quired.
  • Vineyard Book Discussion, Ida Rupp Public Library; 1 – 2 p.m.; Adults. Visit Ohio Living Vineyard on Catawba for a monthly book discussion group meeting in the Community Room. No registration required. Anyone is welcome to join this book discussion. Participa-tion is not limited to those living at the Vineyard. Discussion title: The Guncle by Steven Rowley.
  • 2D Flower Vase, Ida Rupp Public Library; 4 – 5 p.m.; All Ages. All Together Now at Ida Rupp Public Library for the 2023 Summer Reading Program! Come to the library to decorate a flower vase you can fit in any space! Use paint, crayons, markers, and more to decorate, then choose flowers to fill your vase. No registration re-quired. All supplies provided, while they last.
  • DIY Dahlia Book Flower, Erie Islands Library; 1 – 2:30 p.m.; Adults. All Together Now at Erie Islands Library for the 2023 Sum-mer Reading Program! We are recycling some of our old books into beautiful flowers that you will be proud to display. We will have all the materials you will need to create your flowers. Teens entering grades 6-12 are invited to take a tour at The Arts Garage. Teens will work with local artist James Jessen. James is an art student and character-designing fanatic! She is graciously donating her time to help teens create an anime-themed art project to take home. No registration required.

Join us for a brief program on the history of the Marblehead Coast Guard station AND a tour of the station. Participants will meet first at the library for a 20-minute talk on the Marblehead Life-Saving Station by Dennis Kennedy, before walking down the street to the station. The .2 mile walk to the station takes 4-5 minutes over side-walks & paved streets. The tour of the station will last about an hour. Registration is required for this program.   • Build a Greener World, Ida Rupp Public Library; 3 – 4 p.m.; Adults. All Together Now at Ida Rupp Public Library for the 2023 Summer Reading Program! Do you want to hop on the recycling bandwag-on, but aren’t sure what items are recyclable? Improper recycling leads to contamination of material that is otherwise recyclable, while increasing the cost of further sorting and disposing items in our landfills. For this program, Tim Hassinger from the OSS Solid Waste District will show us the difference between items that can and cannot be recycled in the Aim To Be Green recycling program. No registration required.

The terrain is sidewalks & paved streets. The walk will cover approximately one mile & will last about an hour. No registration required. Just show up wearing your walking shoes!

Friday July 21

  • Story Time at Marblehead Lighthouse, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 11 – 12 p.m.; Children. Visit Marblehead Light-house for a fun morning of stories & a craft. The first 30 minutes will be dedicated to preschool children & their caregivers. At 11:30, school-aged children will have a story session just for them. In case of bad weather, we will meet at Marblehead Peninsula Branch Li-brary (710 W. Main Street) for the event. No registration required.

Saturday July 22

  • Clemons Cemetery Walking Tour, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 9:30 – 11 a.m.; All Ages. This tour takes place on the grounds of Clemons Cemetery. The tour will educate about Clemons Cemetery, its interred, the cemetery restoration process, and the preservation of these local treasures. The terrain of the cemetery is unlevel grass. The tour will last about an hour. For this tour we meet at the cemetery. No registration required.

Monday July 24

  • Navigating Nonfiction, Ida Rupp Public Library; 3 – 4 p.m.; Adults. Ever wonder what nonfiction is all about? Join us each month to review and discuss various nonfiction books on similar topics. Books can be selected from the titles for the NNF book group held behind the information desk. Each month will focus on a different subject area.   • Downtown Marblehead Walking Tour, Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library; 6 – 7 p.m.; All Ages. Visit Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library to learn more about the beginnings of Marblehead. Join us for a walking tour full of interesting facts & stories right down Main Street. This tour is approximately 1.5 miles & takes about an hour. The terrain covered includes sidewalks and paved streets. No registration required. Just show up wearing your walking shoes!
