Ghosts, goblins, witches and more — including trick or treating — will be featured at the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton when “Fright in the Museum” makes its debut on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 4-8 p.m.
“We’re planning a wonderful free family event for children of all ages,” said Marketing Coordinator Jim Priebe of Liberty Aviation Museum. “We want to get the whole community involved, so we’ll be inviting businesses in the area to join us as a Port Clinton Business Sponsor to make this wholesome family event a Halloween party to remember.”
The inaugural “Fright in the Museum” trick or treat event for area children of all ages is patterned after the original Night in the Museum movies, said Priebe. It is designed to provide a fun, safe, comfortable and educational event for all kids, no matter the age!
“Parents with younger boys and girls, as well as kids 12 and over can tour the Liberty Aviation Museum where costumed characters will lead them in games, crafts, story-telling and more while passing out candy in the typical Halloween tradition,” said Priebe.
There will be contests for best coloring by age group, best hat, best costume, best makeup and even best pet costumes. Door prizes provided by sponsors will be announced every half hour.
Sponsors should supply treats or candy for 200 youngsters, along with any promotional materials they would like to be distributed to participants during the event. Program sheets with the business information of all participating sponsors in the format of a business card will be distributed at the door, as well.
Sponsorship includes tables, a first-come, first-served choice of location in museum galleries and hangars, lockout of competing businesses, business names mentioned in all of the event’s print, radio and social media marketing, and additional signage throughout the museum facilities. Sponsors should expect to monitor their table from 4-8 p.m. Museum access for setup begins at 3 p.m. The sponsorship fee is $20 per table.
