Classes are now forming for fall semester of Diversified Medical Occupations at the the Vanguard Career & Technology Center in Fremont. The next screening is Wednesday, May 12, and is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age, who have a high school diploma or GED certificate, and have considered a career in the allied healthcare field.

The 9-month course prepares individuals for their certification exam, and for an entry-level position as either a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Technician. The course is very fast-paced and begins with an intensive core curriculum.

Admission screening is required. The test is free and does not commit a student. It can be the first step in preparing women and men for a new career.

Vanguard partners with ASPIRE to offer classes for those who need to boost placement scores. These classes are also offered free of charge, with no obligation.

Financial aid for the program is available. The next class will begin Aug. 25. For information, email bhartzell@vsctc.org or call 567-201-2873.
