Warriors Wangling Walleye seek help from charter guides

Warriors Wangling Walleye will be hosting its 7th annual fishing tournament on Friday, April 28, in Port Clinton, and this year’s benefit fishing tournament is open to anglers of all ages in a four-angler team format. For anglers who may not have a boat, the group is actively seeking local Lake Erie charter captains willing to volunteer their time and boats to help with this event.

“By the end of April, everyone should be anxious to get out on the lake and enjoy a fun day of fishing,” said tournament committee member Kevin Winters. “We’re hoping this year’s tournament will be the biggest and best yet.”

Warriors Wangling Walleye is a local non-profit group founded to honor, encourage and help support U.S. military veterans and their families. Since its inception, the organization has raised and donated more than $54,000 to benefit groups including the Navy Seal Foundation, Wounded Heroes Hunt Camp, Ohio Veterans Home, Wreaths Across America, Save A Warrior and other veteran groups.

Licensed fishing guides wanting more information should contact event chairperson Tim Larcey at 419-573-2868. Phone texts are preferred. Complete tournament information and registration/entry forms can be found at WarriorsWanglingWalleye.org.
