William P. Fieger, 81, of Delaware, passed peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Sage Park Assisted Living in Gahanna, Ohio.
Born Aug. 24, 1942, in Dover, to the late William P. & Anna Rae (Taylor) Fieger. Bill graduated from Dover High School in 1960, and would go on to receive his associate degree from the Ohio State Highway Patrol in 1962.
Bill worked for the Ohio State Highway Patrol for over 24 years before retiring as a Lieutenant. He also worked for the Columbus Fair Auto Auction for over 17 years. He was a 50 plus year mason and held the 32nd Degree, and also held his Scottish Rite for 50 years. He was also a member of the Aladdin Shrine Center, and a 55-year member of the Elks. He was a member of the St. Andrews Church in Lewis Center. In his free time, he officiated swimming in High School & College venues throughout the YMCA since 1960, and helped with the special Olympics.
He was a Lake Erie gentleman at heart, and enjoyed fishing and boating when he wasn’t involved with work for his fraternal organizations.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving and supportive wife of 15 years Emily Jane (Culver); bonus daughter Jane (Dean) Carnevale; granddaughters Emily& Sophia Carnevale; cousin Karol Kramer; along with numerous friends and colleagues.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and only brother Larry Fieger.
Friends may join the family on Friday, Nov. 10, from 4 p.m.- 7 p.m. with masonic services at 6:45 p.m., at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where an additional hour will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11, before the Noon service.
