The Witt Brothers — Slim, Nit and Half — will embark on another summer of music merriment and adventure when they appear at RiverFront Live! on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Meals on Madison Area on Madison Street in Port Clinton.
“Having suddenly lost our brother, Dim, over the winter, who now is resting comfortably in Florida, Cousin Slim came to the rescue to help keep the flame aglow,” said their spokesman.
Here is a closer look at the famed Witt Brothers:
Slim Witt – Giles Ponticello, a polished performer, guitarist and vocalist who has a lengthy and diverse repertoire of folk, jazz, blues, originals, country rock, and rock and roll. He performs solo or with band at colleges, festivals, bars, restaurants, hotels, weddings, parties and coffee houses. Slim has also recorded the original albums “Near the Bridge” and “Dreams to Follow.”
Half Witt – Bill Jones has performed in many diverse genres of music for over 40 years. Half enjoys performing for supermarket openings, building demolitions, and Ohio State away game tailgate parties . . . outside of Ohio Stadium.
Nit Witt – David Bruns is the vertically challenged one of the trio who continues to ride the on the back of Brother Half, and now can enjoy the coat tails of Cousin Slim, as well. Nit always makes it a point before every show to apologize for his behavior well in advance.
