World Elder Abuse Awareness Day ceremony at Performing Arts Center

The Ottawa County Task Force on Aging invites the community to recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day—Building Strong Support for Elders, at a brief ceremony at the Port Clinton High School Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 16 at noon.  Judge Frederick C. Hany II from the Ottawa County Common Pleas Court, Probate-Juvenile Divisions, and Stephanie Kowal, Director of Ottawa County Job and Family Services, will have brief remarks.

Attendees are encouraged to wear purple.

In addition, Ottawa County Job & Family Services will host Croghan Colonial Bank’s “Elder Scam Awareness” program at their building 8043 W. St. Rte. 163 in Oak Harbor on Thursday, June 15 from 9-10:30 a.m. Financial crimes against the elderly are on the rise.
