Kim Mazur of Fabulous Female Boutique and Kevin Lowe of 1812 Food and Spirits were honored as Gold Star donors this week for a Fashion Show Fundraiser for the Wreaths Across America program. The veterans benefit program places wreaths at veteran’s graves in December as an act of remembrance.

The local committee selected Mother’s Day for the Fashion Show Fundraiser, and owner Kim Mazur of Fabulous Female Boutique provided the venue. Kevin Lowe, general manager of 1812 Food and Spirits in Port Clinton, provided wine and gourmet snacks for visitors.

Mazur donated 20% of all sales to the Wreaths Across America Program.

“The weekend was a huge success,” said Chairman Diane Belden. “The committee certainly appreciated all those who attended to support this community effort.”

Among the fundraising events on the Wreaths Across America schedule are the Ride for Wreaths on Aug. 24-25 at Howey’s House of Brews in Oak Harbor; Run for the Wreaths, a fun run/walk on Nov. 2 at East Harbor State Park in Marblehead; and National Wreaths Across America on Dec. 14 at Catawba Island Township Cemetery and Clay Township Cemetery in Genoa.
