OAK HARBOR – The annual Ottawa County Senior Resources Halloween Bash, called Senior Spooktacular this year, was a frighteningly big success. The event was held at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds on Oct. 28 and included lunch, vendors, giveaways, games, a haunted house shoebox contest, music, and dancing, including freestyle, a conga line, and line dancing that even got Ottawa County Commissioner Mark Stahl on the dancefloor.

During the event, Ottawa County Senior Resources Executive Director Tory Thompson recognized and congratulated Rich and Linda Kulanga on their 59th wedding anniversary. The Kulangas met on a blind date in Cleveland in the 1950s and married in 1959.

The annual Halloween Bash is one of the most popular events hosted by Ottawa County Senior Resources.

“It’s just a lot of fun to get people out and about and to celebrate Halloween,” Thompson said.
