LAKESIDE MARBLEHEAD – Marblehead Bank, a division of State Bank, is in the business of personal and commercial account services, mortgage loans, wealth management…and selling food out of the back of a truck. The food truck is not about making money, but about giving back. This summer, the bank gave back to Lakeside Chautauqua to support its new Teen Resiliency Camps.
In early August, Marblehead Bank employees drove the State Bank GIVES Truck to the Lakeside Bluegrass Festival to sell root beer floats. All of the proceeds were donated to Lakeside, and Marblehead Bank promised to match donations up to $500.
The State Bank GIVES (Gathering Individuals to Volunteer, Empower and Serve) program provides opportunities for employees to partner with local nonprofits to impact their community.
“State Bank wants to give back and empower individuals to be involved in the community,” said Marblehead Bank Market Executive Randy Moyer. “We partner with nonprofits to show our appreciation.”
The GIVES Truck travels to State Bank communities across Ohio and Indiana, sometimes serving free food like hot chocolate or hot dogs during local events and sometimes selling food, like root beer floats, and donating all of the profits. Lakeside residents and guests purchased over $700 worth of root beer floats during the Bluegrass Festival.

On Aug. 27, Moyer and Marblehead Bank Assistant Vice President Tonya Salyers presented a check for $1,203.01 to Lakeside President and CEO Charles Allen and Vice President of Programming Karyn Torigoe at the bank.
The donation will support Lakeside’s new Teen Resiliency Camps which are led by Alex Sheen of “because I said I would,” a nonprofit focused on empowering people with resiliency skills and mental health habits. Forty teens attended the first camp at Lakeside this June.
“It brings in teens looking to build resiliency skills, some because they have experienced trauma, and some to better prepare them for the life ahead,” Torigoe said.
Allen was very grateful for the donation.
“Marblehead Bank has been a great partner with Lakeside for years,” he said. “We’re looking forward to continuing that partnership in the future.”
