Recently, the Marblehead Peninsula Lions held a pancake breakfast and raised over $1,000 to help pay medical expenses for a local resident who suffered a stroke. The Lions also presented a magnifying reader to a local resident. That makes five readers placed so far, including one to the library and one to the senior center. The club also purchased several sets of glasses for those in need.

The Lions held a membership drive hot dog event that attracted ten potential members, of which two have joined the club and several others are contemplating membership. The club continues to accept members. For information, contact the Lions at marbleheadpeniunsuallions@gmail.com.

A special thanks to Zone Chairman Mike Garber for attending this fun event. At the last meeting, the club was able to present Melvin Jones Fellowship awards to two members. Congratulations to John Englebeck, a member for 40 years and a charter member of our club, and Tom Henderson, a 20-year member of the club and a past president.

On June 27, the club will induct new officers for 2024-2025 and celebrate the club’s 40th anniversary.
