Meloche’s walk-off single wins it for Rockets

OAK HARBOR — After its a 3-run lead in the seventh inning disappeared, Oak Harbor rebounded in the bottom half of the inning when Justin Meloche hit a walk-off single to score a run and hand the Rockets a 13-12 victory over Lakota.

The Raiders trailed 12-9 in the seventh before scoring three times to tie the score.

Gunner Gregg finished with three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs and Meloche drove in three runs.

 

Willard 5, Oak Harbor 2

Willard jumped out to an early lead with five runs in the first inning and cruised to a 5-2 victory over Oak Harbor.

The Crimson Flashes’ Andrew Reid hit a two-run double and Ethan Rodriguez drove in two runs while Austin Adelman and Jake Cok each doubled and scored.

Isaac Robinson allowed two runs on 10 hits to go with six strikeouts and two walks.

 

Huron 6, Oak Harbor 3

Oak Harbor held a 3-run lead in the top of the fifth inning but Huron rallied late to defeat the Rockets, 6-3.

The Rockets led 3-0 in the fifth inning before the Tigers scored a run and then busted out for five in the sixth.

Huron loaded the bases in the sixth with nobody out and Tyler Adams scored a run on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 3-2. Then Kaden Staley singled to score Aiden Kastor and Abram Fortune to give the Tigers the lead for good, and Huron added two more insurance runs to account for the final scoring.

 

Huron 8, Port Clinton 0

Huron took a one-run lead in the first inning and never looked back in its 8-0 win over Port Clinton.

The Tigers led 1-0 after the first inning and 8-0 after four innings. Cole Parker pitched five innings and struck out six batters. At the plate, he drove in two runs.

Port Clinton’s Braeden George had two of the Redskins’ three hits.

 

Woodmore 9, Port Clinton 5 (8 innings)

After rallying to tie the score in the bottom of the seventh inning, Port Clinton saw Woodmore score four runs in the eighth to take the lead in its 9-5 victory over the Redskins.

Zach Hunt got the win for the Wildcats.

Woodmore had a 3-0 lead after two innings, but Port Clinton scored three runs in the third to tie the score.

Hunter Allen, D.J. Melter and Aaron Miller each had a double to lead the Wildcats.
