Mike Risner to open The District Stage

The versatile Mike Risner, a singer and guitarist who has been performing throughout the area for many years, will kick off this summer’s music tonight (Thursday, May 25) on the unique The District Stage on Madison Street in downtown Port Clinton.

Formerly known as the Meals on Madison Stage, or M.O.M. Stage, since its creation, The District Stage will begin a new era of music and entertainment. While great bands and a range of tunes will be in the forefront, varied events on Port Clinton’s signature street will create an unmatched summertime vibrancy to Port Clinton entertainment.

Risner’s solo acoustic show will begin at 7 p.m. He is known for his powerful vocals and acoustic shows. He’s amenable to requests, boasting a vast catalog of songs that span numerous genres and decades.

The District Stage schedule and live entertainment listings from around the area will be featured in the Lake Erie Coastlines section each week in The Beacon, and on The Beacon website at www.thebeacon.net.

Over the years, Risner has had a stellar career, and has also had the opportunity to open for a variety of national acts, including Ted Nugent, Steven Adler of Guns N Roses, Hoobastank, Salove, Candlebox, Jackyl, Fuel, Black Stone Cherry, among others.
