PUT-IN-BAY – June is Ohio Wine Month, and the Ohio Wine Producers Association invites the public to explore the association’s 425+ wineries during June and beyond into the fall. Ask to taste the award-winning wines from the 2025 Ohio Wine Competition. There are scores of double golds, golds, silvers and bronzes, representing the best of the best.

Plan a visit to picnic overlooking sparkling waters, watch puffy white clouds fly into the blue beyond, listen to the sounds of jazz wafting through the vineyards, sip award-winning vintages under starlit skies, enjoy a grill-it-yourself steak dinner, or order from one of our fine wine-restaurant menus.

Visit your local grocery store or farmers’ market and look for the wines to take home to compliment a BBQ on your back deck.

Visit your favorite nearby restaurant and order an Ohio wine from their list – or encourage the manager to begin pouring the best of Ohio’s state-grown vintages. The association can supply a list of exceptional wines and offer a tasting.

Then join the association for the third annual Island Wine Fest, on June 21 on the beautiful island of Put-in-Bay overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Erie. In 2025, this is the association’s featured Wine Month event.

And mark your calendar for the 30th Anniversary celebration of Vintage Ohio, the state’s original and its most acclaimed wine and food events, August 1-2 this year, once again in Lake County at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark.

Visit www.OhioWines.org to learn about all the activities and great wines created by Ohio vintners and their families to celebrate this June and beyond. The website offers information on wine events in the Shores & Islands Ohio area.
