PORT CLINTON – Kelly Mulvaney turned personal grief into healing and ultimately a new passion that aims to help energize, center the mind, and uplift the spirit, leaving clients stronger, balanced and truly Irie.
Mulvaney and her partner, Michael Young, recently celebrated a ribbon cutting and grand opening for Irie Fitness, located at 3922 East Harbor Light Landing in Port Clinton. The event was hosted by the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce.
The name “Irie” was inspired by Irie Life, a colorful island experience Mulvaney fell in love with while vacationing in Anguilla. Driven by that same uplifting energy, Mulvaney is excited to bring her passion for Reformer Pilates and Cycling to the area.
“At Irie Fitness, Irie is more than a name – it’s a feeling of peace, positivity and harmony. Wellness begins with movement but truly thrives in community,” Mulvaney said. “Our studio blends connection, fun and mindful movement through Pilates, cycling and Yoga. We wanted to create a welcoming community where movement is joyful, aging is graceful, and wellness is a shared journey.”
For Mulvaney, the journey to open Irie Fitness began when she discovered Pilates shortly after losing her mom.
“It became a grief and healing, an anchor through change,” she said.
Irie Fitness has four elevated Pilates stations, weights and ten stationary bikes for spin classes led by instructors.
